At a recent press conference held here at MCCF, Vice President of our board, Jessica Bokhart, presented a grant of $100,000 to the Youth Service Bureau. This grant helped the YSB leverage an $800,010 grant from North Central Health Services, which will allow them to purchase and renovate the former Mills School building on West Pike Street. Other community partners such as Hoosier Heartland State Bank, Valero, Banjo/IDEX Foundation, Nucor, and the Franciscan Foundation provided financial support for this worthy project.

Kelly Taylor, MCCF Executive Director, stated that our Board was unanimous in their agreement to support this endeavor by the YSB to obtain new space. Kelly said, "Our Board is excited to help the YSB fulfill their dream for a new facility. The YSB provides many valuable services to our local youth and the new facility will enhance these services throughout our community."

Youth Service Bureau provides eleven critical programs for youth. Mills School has four times the square footage of their current building and will suit their needs for years to come. Nancy Sennett, YSB Board Chair, accepted the gifts and expressed their appreciation for the community’s efforts, which are making this possible.
