2014 Annual Meeting

5.29.14

Our 2014 Annual Meeting was a time of celebration as we shared the joys and accomplishments of the previous year! We are so grateful for all our donors who helped make 2013 a year of records - record number of donors (over 900) and a record number of grants and scholarships (over 1.6 million). We also appreciate all those who took the time to attend the meeting and celebrate with us!

One of our former Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship recipient, Katie Gentry, pictured in the photo above, spoke at our annual meeting about the impact the award had in her life as it gave her the opportunity to pursue her college goals without enormous college debt. She talked about some of the people she met on a medical mission trip and how they influenced her decision to become a Physician Assistant. Katie expressed how grateful she is for everyone's support and generosity in helping students like her fulfill their dreams of higher education.

Larry Paarlberg, from the Lew Wallace Study& Museum, also spoke about the ongoing renovations at the Study, as well as some of the completed projects that have been accomplished through MCCF grants. He shared the excitement over uncovering a portion of General Wallace's original artwork on the domed ceiling and showed some photos of that discovery, as well as the ongoing project to uncover more of the design. Larry thanked MCCF and the donors for making these projects possible so that we can preserve our wonderful local history.
