Description:
Mrs. Gibson taught for the North Montgomery School Corporation for 36 years and the Nancy Gibson Memorial Scholarship was established by the Gibson family to honor her achievements as a teacher. The scholarship is for a North Montgomery High School graduate who will be pursuing a degree in education.
The Gibson Scholarship is for one year only and must be applied to tuition.
Criteria:
- Be a graduate in good standing of North Montgomery High School, Montgomery County, Indiana by the end of June of the year in which the application is filed
- Be a resident of Montgomery County, Indiana, and have lived in Montgomery County, Indiana for the previous five years
- Be pursuing a degree in teaching
- Be accepted into and attend an accredited two-or four–year public or private college or university
- Must have a “C” or better grade point average
- Must have completed a minimum of seven (7) semesters or ten (10) trimesters by the application deadline to be eligible to apply for the Nancy Gibson Memorial Scholarship

- In addition to the standard essay questions, be prepared to write an essay (300 word maximum) addressing the following: "Describe the steps you plan to take in order to reach your goal of becoming a school teacher."
