Position: Grants and Community Relations Director
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Overview:

Responsible for overseeing the grantmaking program. To assist in providing leadership and overall direction to the Foundation’s grantmaking program including active participation in designing and implementing procedures for efficient and effective grantmaking processes. Serve as a community liaison for the Foundation to engage in strategic grantmaking.

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written skills with exceptional attention to details
  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable experience in nonprofit work
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Successful experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with the Montgomery County community

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Grant administration
    • Management of grantmaking and distribution functions for funds including working with the Grants Committee, applicants, grantees and donors
    • Maintaining records and reporting of all grantmaking activities
    • Maintain a working knowledge of grantmaking. Identify critical community issues and encourage proposals that address these issues
    • Conduct impact and outcome evaluations on the unrestricted grant awards.
    • Responsible for grants publicity and maintaining communications with nonprofit agencies through meetings, brown bags and eblasts.
    • Responsible for overseeing the Nonprofit Learning Series which includes determining topics for the series, communications with the nonprofits and surveys
    • Maintain a close working relationship with the local nonprofits to identify organizational needs that MCCF may offer assistance
    • Serve as a community liaison to determine community needs
    • Conduct focus groups and meetings of community representatives to explore, research and address community issues
    • Oversee the annual Volunteer of the Year program
    • Research and stay abreast of grantmaking trends and new programs offered
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
