Crawfordsville to Host Early Learning Summit Live Stream

10.22.19

Did you know that Montgomery County employers lose $7.9 million each year due to absences and turnover related to unstable childcare? Local business leaders do not have to travel far to learn more about the economic impact of childcare in our community. Crawfordsville has been selected to host a live stream of the 2019 Indiana Early Learning Summit for Economic Development on November 7 at Fusion 54 in Crawfordsville.

This will be the fourth year for this statewide event, held in Fort Wayne, which brings together business leaders across the state to understand the business case for investment in early childhood and ways to support the local workforce. Organizers recently added a live stream option to make the Summit more accessible for business leaders. View the full agenda here.

From Fusion 54, attendees will hear remarks from Indiana leaders and keynote speaker Jim Spurlino, as well as a presentation on the brain science supporting the need for quality early childhood education.

Facilitators will then lead a panel and discussion to highlight leaders who are supporting early learning education in their workplaces.

By attending the Summit, employers will:

• Learn how early childhood education impacts the current workforce
• Learn how early childhood education can help prepare the future workforce
• Learn about the economic impact on the bottom line
• Learn about tangible action their company can take to support the current and future Workforce

Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the third floor of Fusion 54 (101 W. Main Street, Crawfordsville.) The livestream starts at 11:00 a.m. and is expected to finish at 2:00 p.m., with lunch provided. This event is free and open to local business leaders and interested community members. Attendees are asked to RSVP by Monday, November 4 here or by calling the MCCF office at 362-1267.
