The James G. and Patti J. Pearson Scholarship
(Southmont High School Students Only)
The Pearson Scholarship will be awarded to a senior, in good standing, at Southmont High School, who plans to pursue a baccalaureate degree in the field of elementary teaching at any accredited public or private college or university. Applicants must be of good character and attitude. Applicants must show financial need which may be considered in the final selection. In addition, applicants are required to submit a 200-word essay describing the steps he or she has planned in order to achieve the goal of becoming an elementary teacher. A letter of recommendation from the principal, guidance counselor or any teacher at Southmont High School is also required.

Application Deadline: 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012. Applications can be delivered to the Guidance Office at Southmont High School.
