Description:

Ernest and Diana Rhoads lived in Montgomery County for all of their married life. Possessing a strong personal faith, they always believed that it is more blessed to give than to receive. To continually give back to the community they called home, the Rhoads set up a permanent legacy through the Ernest and Diana Rhoads Scholarship Fund.

The Rhoads Scholarship is for Montgomery County High School students who are enrolled and will attend an accredited two-year public or private college or university. The scholarship will be awarded to first year college students and is renewable for one year provided the student has earned a 3.00 (out of a 4.00) or better grade point average at the end of his/her freshman year. Financial need is a basis of the scholarship selection.

Criteria:
  • Be a graduate in good standing of a public Montgomery County High School, Montgomery County, Indiana by the end of June of the year in which the application is filed; and plan to attend an accredited two-year public or private institution of higher learning, such as Ivy Tech College, and/or other accredited vocational school
  • Must have completed a minimum of seven (7) semesters or ten (10) trimesters by the application deadline to be eligible to apply for the Rhoads Scholarship
  • You must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.67 (out of a 4.00) or better for seven (7) semesters or ten (10) trimesters of high school at the time the application is filed.
