Description:
Sarah Durham, a kind and generous lady, was a prominent resident of Crawfordsville, Indiana. Upon her death in 1937, she bequeathed her beautiful home and established a trust for the purpose of maintaining the home as a ladies residence for independent women. 


Today, Durham Home Inc. operates as a 501(c)3 organization and oversees the home, located at 215 West Main Street in Crawfordsville. To further impact Sarah's mission to embolden women, the Durham Home Inc. board of directors established the Durham Home Inc. Scholarship Fund at MCCF. It is their wish to support local women pursuing education to better themselves and their contributions to the community.

Eligibility:
  • Be a female resident of Montgomery County, Indiana
  • Be a graduate in good standing from a Montgomery County, Indiana high school or home school program by the end of June of the year in which the application is filed
  • Must have completed a minimum of seven (7) semesters by the application deadline
  • Be accepted into and attend an accredited two-year or four-year public or private college or university in the State of Indiana
Requirements:

  • Applicants will be asked to upload a transcript from their most recent educational institution.
  • Be prepared to answer the following essay prompts (200 word maximum) addressing the following:

    • "How have you been a good role model for young women?"

    • "How would receiving this scholarship help you positively impact the world?"
